Advantages and disadvantages of lithium batteries compared with lead-acid batteries

Advantages of lithium batteries:

Disadvantages:

Higher price: Lithium batteries have higher production costs

It cannot be recycled and reused. Once damaged, it cannot be repaired and reused. It is not very safe and can catch fire easily.


Advantages of lead-acid batteries:

The technology of lead-acid batteries is more mature, the price is cheaper, and it is especially safer.

Lithium batteries are disposable batteries and can only be replaced if they break down, while lead-acid batteries have electrolyte that can be replenished due to water loss, and aging batteries can be repaired using pulse technology.

Recyclable. After lead-acid batteries are scrapped, they are not "waste"

From a cost perspective, lead-acid batteries have more advantages, because generally the price of lithium batteries is 2 to 3 times that of lead-acid batteries.

Disadvantages:

The service life is very short. Its discharge capacity is only half of that of lithium-ion batteries, or even less than half. Its size and weight are also quite large, which makes disassembly troublesome. In terms of service life, even under normal use, If it fails to pass multiple levels, it will need to be replaced with a new one, which is not as durable as a lithium-ion battery.

They are heavy, have limited battery capacity, and have a short lifespan. Lead-acid batteries generally have a lifespan of about three years within 400 deep charges and deep discharges.

Although lithium batteries still have many shortcomings, they generally have certain advantages over lead-acid batteries. I believe that most people are not willing to carry a large battery with a low power storage and a short lifespan. We all like a product that stores a lot of power and lasts a long time.
